Steps Required Before Your Remodel
What happens after the contract is signed — blueprints, permits, scheduling, and material lead times that set up a successful remodel, addition, ADU, or new build.

You've decided to move forward with Prime Revival Construction for your addition, ADU, new build or remodel. The contract has been signed, initial deposit & preconstruction fees paid, what's next? Depending on your scope of work, we might not be able to start right away, but its not because we don't want to. The initial deposit places you on our schedule and we'll move into the preconstruction phase that deals with scheduling, material lead times, blueprints & permits.
Blueprints & Permits
Before any work can be started in your home, we need to have the blueprints drawn and approved by the local building authority. We walk the property with our draftsmen to create a layout/site plan that shows where your main service connections are. Additionally, we add sheets for the different trades that will be part of the work scope, whether it be framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical. If there are structural changes to your home, like creating an open space concept in your kitchen & dining room, or adding a second story to your home, our engineers will then calculate load requirements for your footings, framing members, etc & stamp the blueprints with their seal. Once we have this dialed in, we can submit for approval of plans. Please take in mind that drafting & engineering can take at least one month, while approvals from the city vary from 1 to 3 months depending on the jurisdiction & scope of work.
Scheduling
Once funds clear for preconstruction, one of the first things our team starts working on is the schedule for your project. If we are building your ADU, bedroom addition, or full house remodel, the project can easily be 3-4 months for completion. We deliver you a schedule so you can have a better idea on what phase of the project we'll be on 5 weeks in. This allows you and your family to plan ahead of time for doctor appointments, vacations, or your work schedule. Although we aim for a perfect timeline & schedule, dates can vary due to weather, material arrival windows, and changes made to the work scope.
Material Lead Times
Having a schedule for your house remodel helps us gauge the time period that materials need to be on site. It allows us to minimize the risk of materials being damaged while stored & keeping your home from looking like a warehouse. Our most recent bathroom remodel near Van Ness Boulevard had a lead time of 6-8 weeks for tile, 4-5 weeks for windows, and 2-3 weeks for vanity fabrication. We were able to discuss with the homeowner by when the material needed to be ordered so that it could be on time for each phase. The last thing we want on your project is a start-stop feature.
